The Stooges were so far ahead of time,unknowingly..Iggy thought,he was kicking out some James Brown(other R&B and rock (Doors etc.).He was just Raw Power,from get go.Such great heavy, back to basics of R&B and Rock.He didn't regard himself as"punk", personally I hate categorizing music.I think Iggy just wanted to play heavy Rock and Blues(but got too wild lol).It's good to see some younger guys jamming to this.

People are often puzzled when the Yardbirds are mentioned as pioneers of heavy metal. It was journalists who witnessed Yardbirds in concert who described the music as heavy metal. This is evidence of what they were referring to. It’s a shame there isn’t more footage of this lineup, or the short lived period when Page switched from bass to co-lead guitar with Beck, which was apparently pretty awesome.
